Favorite book(s) outside the Bible

  • Desiring God by John Piper has had a huge impact on me in college and to this day.
  • Jonathan Edwards’ A Treatise on the Religious Affections has formed my thinking about worship tremendously.
  • Knowing God by J.I. Packer made me acutely aware of how small my view of God was and, at the same, gave me a taste for its expansion.
  • The Letters of John Newton (which is now available in several expanded editions) was an important piece of the puzzle for me to see that pastoral ministry never “moves on” from the gospel.
  • In The Missionary Movement in Christian History, Andrew Walls helped me to see church history as one huge story of Christ building his Church.
  • Hobbies/interests
I love playing music, listening to music, writing music, learning new instruments, etc.
