The mission of Affordable Christmas is to give families the opportunity to provide Christmas gifts in a way that preserves dignity and promotes empowerment. Every year our people donate thousands of gifts that are available for purchase by families from our partner organizations (Crossroads Academy & Alcazar Apartments) at 1/10th of the original purchase price. Affordable Christmas will be on Saturday, December 10 from 8 am to 1 pm.
Purchase and donate new, unwrapped toys for children ages birth to 17. We are no longer accepting donations of coats, gloves, hats, and scarves.
We also accept financial donations and gift cards. Donations may be dropped off at our building from Monday-Friday, 9 am – 4 pm until December 9, or during any of our Sunday services beginning on November 20. For gift ideas, check out the link below or click here for a PDF.
Another way that you can get involved in Affordable Christmas is by serving on the day of the event. We will need at least 500 people to serve on this day. All serving roles are currently filled! Thanks to all those who have signed up.
We have made it easy for you to collect gifts at your office or other community locations. Here are some suggestions for how you can engage the community in donations:
– Host a donation basket on your office floor/hospital floor/any place you work
– Request a jeans day for anyone that donates financially or with toys to the event
– Talk to your gym, favorite coffee shop, or local business owners who want to host a basket for you
– Use your company’s matching gift program to donate to Affordable Christmas (just make sure it is designated for that specific event)
– Have a different idea? Great- go for it!
If you are interested, simply e-mail [email protected] and we will make sure you get the basket, flyers, or advice you need to be successful.
We have 1100 gifts, but we need 1300 gifts!
