What does it mean to pledge?
At Redeemer we do not consider pledges to be binding legal documents. Rather, we consider pledges to be good faith commitments of intent to support the project at a certain level. Of course, the elders do make financial decisions based on the anticipated amount of giving, but we consider the actual commitment and payment to be a matter between you and God. Please make a thoughtful and prayerful commitment, and then give your best effort to pay it.
What if I already give to Redeemer?
We ask that pledges to the building project be above and beyond your “regular” giving. Our regular budget needs still must be met and we anticipate further seasons of sacrificial giving for the sake of our vision. For now, we are asking our people to pledge towards Phase 1 of the project from November 2011 to November 2012.
Accomplishing the Project in Two Phases
The total cost of the project is $3.65 million, which we have broken up into two phases to address the most pressing needs first. The first phase will cost $2.65 million, and will:
We’ll start work on Phase 1 when we have $2.2 million in hand and 100% of the $2.65 million pledged.
The second phase will cost $1 million, and will:
We’ll start work on phase 2 when we have $700 thousand in hand and 100% of the $1 million pledged.
Questions? Feel free to ask them here. For more information on the need, head back to our building page.
