Why join a group?
God is a relational God. As people made in his image, we believe that we are made for relationships. Being in a group creates space for us to begin to engage in the lives of one another. We recognize that people come from a variety of different backgrounds and circumstances, so we have created pathways that will see people introduced to Christianity, challenged with the gospel, introduced to our church’s values, and developed and equipped for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:12).
What groups are available?
This Spring we offer the following groups and classes for involvement at our church, which are designed to disciple, empower, and deploy people in our city and the world.

Redeemer 101

Redeemer 101 is the first step many people take toward involvement at Redeemer. These are short, frequent, and informative times designed to let you hear from our pastors and staff about the values, vision, and story of our church. In addition, at 101 you can get connected to people and resources that will help you step further into the life of our community.
The next Redeemer 101 will be held in the First Floor Meeting Space at 11am on Sunday, February 5th. Please feel free to leave your children in RedeemerKIDS for this time. No signup is required for 101.
Gospel-Centered Life

This is an eight week study going through material published by World Harvest Mission titled, “The Gospel-Centered Life.” The primary purpose of this study is to help explain how the gospel applies to everyday life in a way that is accessible to both Christians and non-Christians.
This Spring, the Gospel-Centered life will meet in the Sanctuary on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8pm beginning on February 1st and ending on March 28th. No sign-up is required – this class is totally open. However, if you have children that will need childcare, please RSVP them here.
Gospel Communities
show +hide -
Gospel Communities are smaller groups of people who gather to encounter the gospel, shepherd one another in community, grow in their understanding and obedience to God’s word, and live as Christ’s ambassadors for the glory of God and the good of the city.
Gospel Communities meet throughout the week in homes all over the Kansas City area.
To join a Gospel Community, you must fulfill one of the following prerequisites: you were in a Gospel Community last year or have taken Redeemer DNA. This is not meant to exclude anyone, but rather we believe that the relational, cultural, and theological foundation of our other groups will be of great value to you before you join a Gospel Community. So, if you’re newer to Redeemer, please consider jumping into one of the other available groups. If you have questions about Gospel Communities, please email Brian Key at brian@redeemerkansascity.org.
Redeemer DNA and Serving on a Ministry Team

There are two other pathways we’d encourage you to explore.
First, we host an 8-week class called Redeemer DNA for those who are interested in transitioning from being a regular attender to an official member at Redeemer. This class is held on Wednesday evenings beginning on February 1st, and you can find more information about the class and our membership process here.
Second, serving on a ministry team is one of the best ways to get to know other people at Redeemer as you help us with the nuts and bolts of our Sunday services and weekly events. More information about our ministry teams is available on the Serve page.
